Rugged Cases For

iPhones !

We are hearing that many people who need a Rugged Phone for their work, also, like to have the many jazzy features of say an iPhone.

However, none of the current crop of Rugged Phones fit that bill.

An alternative is to have a Rugged Case for your iPhone.

We have looked at few of these and while they can probably protect the phone against a fall, they are not very good at keeping dust and grime out of the connections on the phone.

We have however found one which seems to fit the bill and my son who is a landscaper is currently trying it out.

If all works out well, we will try to source them and sell for a reasonable price on the website.

Criteria For Selecting a Rugged or Tough Phone

With more and more mobiles going into rough terrain, the need for phones that can stand up to harsh treatment is growing. A rugged phone might be the right choice, if you’ve suffered from one too many dropped and broken mobile phones, screens that can’t be read due to sun and glare, or phones that are sluggish and unresponsive in hot or cold conditions. Conventional phones are just too flimsy for use in difficult conditions.

A tough phone is the answer if you need performance in wet conditions, extreme temperatures, or hazardous areas. However, there are a lot of options out there. Here’s a look at rugged phones, and some of the criteria you should use when choosing one. You’ll be amazed at the difference these phones can make in your life. Once you’ve tried a rugged phone, you’ll never go back to your other options.

You’ll want to take a look at the kinds of conditions in which you’re likely to be using your phone. Will you be working outside where it’s wet, for instance? Landscapers and other people in jobs that can involve a lot of moisture will want a phone that’s sealed against even the wettest weather. Sealed cases can help keep dirt and dust out, too.

For people who need their mobiles in extreme conditions, components that are impervious to heat and cold will also be a factor. There are tough phones on the market that will work perfectly anywhere from negative twenty degrees C to sixty degrees or more. These rugged phones will keep on working, even in the heat of the summer or cold of the winter.

Shock is another factor that rugged phones have to be able to deal with. The best can handle not just being dropped, but even being driven over, and screens with no glare coatings remain easy to read and resists smudging, scratching, and other damage. Cases should be strong and comfortable to hold without being too heavy, and all buttons should be tested for hard use. If you’re going to be making a lot of calls, they have to stand up to being pushed repeatedly, after all.

Feature sets vary, but the majority of tough phones on the market include standard services as well as Bluetooth, WAP, and SMS. A good phone should have multiple settings, as well as plenty of accessories. Convenient options for charging, external antennas, and headset options are also a good idea. Rugged phones can be an excellent choice for anyone who has to deal with harsh conditions and wants a phone that will hold up.
